<br /> <br /> Forward Compost Facility Stormwater Improvements 02300 16 EARTHWORK <br /> <br /> A. Construct material limits within tolerance specified in Section 01410, SURVEYS. <br /> <br />3.21 TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEYS <br /> <br /> A. Refer to Section 01410, SURVEYS, for requirements regarding preconstruction <br />surveys. <br /> <br /> B. The OWNER will conduct detailed topographic surveys of site to document "as- <br />built" prepared subgrade on the base and slope of the retention basin, pan <br />lysimeter, terminations of geomembrane liner, and the location of the interior crest <br />of anchor trenches. The crests and bottom of the drainage ditches, culvert inverts, <br />and pipe inlets and outlets shall also be documented. All surveys will be <br />performed in accordance with Section 01410, SURVEYS. <br /> <br /> 1. Measure area elevations on minimum 50-foot-grid over entire impoundment <br />area and at all breaks in grade. <br /> 2. Measure linear dimensions a minimum of 100-feet on center. <br /> 3. Plot results of topographic surveys to scale of 1 inch equals 50 feet and <br />provide survey information in electronic format to QA/QC CONSULTANT. <br /> 4. QA/QC CONSULTANT will check the survey. The EARTHWORK <br />CONTRACTOR shall not construct the lining system until survey approval <br />is provided by the QA/QCCONSULTANT. QA/QC CONSULTANT's <br />review shall be completed within 2 working days following receipt of the <br />as-built survey information. <br /> <br />3.22 ACCEPTANCE OF WORK <br /> <br /> A. Final acceptance will be based on tests made on completed Work, on samples of <br />material taken from the completed layers, and the as-built surveys. Testing for <br />final acceptance will be performed by the QA/QC CONSULTANT in accordance <br />with the requirements of these Specifications and the CQA Manual. <br /> <br />3.23 REMOVAL OF WATER <br /> <br /> A. Provide and operate equipment adequate to keep all excavations and trenches free <br />of water. Remove all water as required for efficient and safe execution of the <br />work, and as required by the QA/QC CONSULTANT. Avoid settlement or <br />damage to adjacent property. Dispose of water in a manner that will not damage <br />adjacent property. When dewatering open excavations, dewater from outside the <br />structural limits and from a point below the bottom of the excavation when <br />possible. Design dewatering system to prevent removal of fines from existing <br />ground. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 4 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT (Refer to Section 01200, MEASUREMENT <br />AND PAYMENT PROCEDURES) <br />
