<br />for the Central Valley and Northern CA Region, 2008-2015
<br />Managed the environmental planning, permitting, compliance and implementation activities for six active
<br />landfills, five transfer stations, two material recovery facilities, six closed landfills and ten hauling
<br />companies in the Central Valley and Northern California Regions. Managed an extensive group of
<br />engineers, scientists and professional consultants.
<br />Provided technical business assistance to General Managers, Division Managers, Sales and Special Waste
<br />Managers. Managed $25 million in annual infrastructure improvements, $6 million in annual Landfill
<br />Closure & Post Closure activities, $3 Million in annual Landfill Compliance Expenses and $2 million in
<br />annual Remediation costs. Provided annual updates to Engineering and Compliance Budgets for Annual ,
<br />5 Year and 30 Year planning requirements.
<br />Projects of note included the completion of the Remediation Waterline Project at Forward Landfill.
<br />Identification of landfill gas issues at Forward Landfill and subsequent successful implementation of a
<br />Remedial Plan. Use Permit Approval at Forward Landfill for Permitted Boundary expansion, Gas Probe
<br />relocation and Water Board approval for cannery waste land-farming.
<br />Revision of Waste Acceptance Criteria for several Bay Area landfills increasing special waste disposal
<br />volumes. Permitting and Vertical Expansion of the Newby Island Landfill in San Jose, CA. Founding
<br />Member of the South Bay Odor Stakeholder Group. Completion of two Landfill Gas to Energy power
<br />plant Projects with Net annual revenues of $2 million. Management of State Solid Waste Facility
<br />Permits, Title V Permits, Air District, Water Board and Local Permits, Power Purchase Agreements and
<br />Renewable Energy Credits. Extensive contacts with CalRecycle, DTSC, Water Boards, Air Districts,
<br />County Agencies and City Municipalities.
<br />Recipient of the Republic Services 2014 Area of the Year Award, 2014 Regional Capital Management
<br />Award, 2013 Regional Innovation Award and a 2012 Nominee for the Environmental Stewardship
<br />Award.

<br />Purchased and managed the site restoration of a 50-acre industrial property. Planned and developed the
<br />Vino Piazza complex of 14 wineries, 2 restaurants, and other associated businesses in Lockeford, CA.
<br />Owned and operated a general contracting company, a yellow iron equipment rental business, a hard rock
<br />quarry joint venture and a construction accounting Software Company.
<br />Founding Member of the Lockeford Municipal Advisor Council reporting directly to our County
<br />Supervisor. Involved in the development of the San Joaquin County Winery Ordinance.
<br />General Manager responsibilities included the daily oversight of wine quality, public-water supply
<br />quality, wastewater treatment and disposal, solid waste management, personnel safety and health training
<br />programs, and compliance reporting. Managed ongoing construction work, equipment rental and repair,
<br />marketing and sales, estimating and contracting, and profit and loss accountability. Seasonal average of
<br />50 – 75 employees generating $10 million in sales annually. USDA Project of the Year Award.
