The GCL shall consist of a layer of bentonite encapsulated between two nonwoven geotextiles. The bentonite shall be a high quality, natural sodium bentonite. 2. The GCL shall be internally reinforced through a process such as needle punching through the top and bottom layers of geotextile and the bentonite. The reinforcing fibers shall be a polypropylene thread. The tensile strength of the fibers shall not be affected by hydration with water.
