Batch: A quantity of resin, usually the capacity of one railcar, used in the fabrication of high density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane sheet. The finished sheet will be identified by a roll number corresponding to the particular quantity of resin used.
B. Bridging: The condition when geomembrane becomes suspended over its subgrade due to contraction of the material or poor installation.
C. QA/QC Consultant: The party, independent from Manufacturer or CONTRACTOR, that is responsible for observing and documenting activities related to the quality assurance of production and installation of the geosynthetic components of the lining system.
D. Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Laboratory: The party, independent from the OWNER, Manufacturer, Fabricator, and Installer, responsible for conducting tests on samples of geosynthetics obtained at the site.
E. Extrudate: The molten polymer that is emitted from an extruder during seaming using either extrusion fillet or extrusion flat methods. The polymer is initially in the form of a ribbon rod, bead or pellets.
F. Fabricator: The party responsible for the fabrication of geomembrane panels constructed from rolls received from the manufacturer.
G. Geomembrane Manufacturer: The party responsible for the production of the geomembrane rolls from resin and for the quality control of the resin.
H. Geomembrane: An essentially impermeable membrane used as a solid or liquid
