This training is needed in order to ensure that employees recognize and <br />understand the importance of working in a safe manner. The training provided will <br />meet the requirements for the Department’s Injury and Illness Prevention Program <br /> <br />1.7.1 Required Documentation for Training <br /> <br /> Course Content <br /> When Training was conducted <br /> Attendance Roster <br /> <br />1.7.2 Training Requirements <br />All Department employees shall have training and instruction on general <br />and job specific safety and health guidelines. The training and instruction <br />shall be provided as follows: <br /> To all new hires <br /> To all employees given a new job assignment for which training has not <br />previously been provided <br /> Whenever new substances, processes, procedures or equipment are introduced <br />to the workplace and represent a new hazard <br /> Whenever the Department is made aware of a new or previously unrecognized <br />hazard <br /> To familiarize supervisors with safety and health hazards their employees may be <br />exposed to <br /> To familiarize employees with respect to the hazards specific to each job <br />assignment <br /> A listing by job classification of all training requirements for the various areas of <br />the IIPP that are needed in order for the employee to safely perform job tasks <br />assigned <br /> <br />1.7.3 Workplace Safety and Health Practices <br />Workplace Safety and Health Practices for all Department employees <br />shall include at least the following: <br /> Explanation of the Department’s IIPP, emergency action plan, fire prevention <br />plan, measure for reporting any unsafe conditions, work practices, <br />injuries/illness, and when additional instruction is needed <br /> Use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment including gloves, footwear, <br />hats or other need safety gear
