09 October 2023 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 23-7573 CLIENT —ATTORNEY PRIVILEGE An Employee-Owned Company
Page 2 of 5
2.0. SCOPE OF WORK AND PROCEDURES
AGI proposes to advance twelve (12) borings at the site. The borings are proposed to be
advanced to total depths ranging from ten (10) feet below surface grade (bsg) and fifteen
(15) feet bsg.
At six of the proposed locations, dual-completed soil-vapor wells will be installed to depths
of 5 and 15 feet bsg. The other six locations will be single completed with soil-vapor
sampling points to 10 feet bsg. In addition to the above scope, a total of two sub-slab soil-
vapor sampling points will be installed: one (1) within the subject suite and one (1) within
the 306 Ham Lane suite. The proposed boring and sub-slab sampling locations are
illustrated in Figure 1.
2.1. SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT, SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
Hand/Limited Access Probing Methods:
AGI proposes to advance four (4) borings within the subject suite using a combination of
hand and limited access drilling techniques; two borings will be advanced to a total depth
of 10 feet bsg and the other two will be advanced to 15 feet bsg. Soil samples will be
collected at 2, 5, 10 and 15 feet (total depth) from each of the proposed 15-foot boring
locations. Initially the borings will be hand cleared to five feet bsg using a hand auger. At
depths of 2 and 5 feet bsg, soil samples will be collected discretely by driving a metric
volume core sampler loaded with 2-inch by 3-inch stainless-steel sleeves. For the
remainder of the boring, a limited access direct -push drilling rig equipped with a piston
sampler will be used to collect a two-foot acetate sleeve at 10 and 15 feet bsg. Once the
acetate sleeve is retrieved, a selected portion of the sleeve will be cut for preservation.
For each collected sample the ends of the sleeve or liner will be covered with Teflon®
sheets, plastic end cap, and sealed with duct tape. The samples will be labeled with
boring/sampling designation, site name, date, time and samplers initials and then placed
in an ice chest with ice.
Direct-Push Method:
AGI proposes to three (3) borings at the site to fifteen (15) feet bsg utilizing a truck-
mounted Geoprobe 5400 direct-push probing unit equipped with 1.25-inch diameter
probing rods. The Geoprobe advances soil probe borings using a hydraulic hammer to
drive sampling tools to specified depths. Initially soil samples will be collected at two and
five feet bsg using hand methods described above Thereafter soil samples will be
collected continuously from all three borings between 10 and 15 feet bsg using a 1.25-
inch Geoprobe soil sampling assembly with 2-foot acetate liners. Upon sample retrieval,
a selected portion of the liner will be cut, and the ends will be covered with Teflon sheets,
capped, and sealed with tape.
