08 May 2024 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 23-7523 An Employee-Owned Company
Page 2 of 3
2.3. SOIL VAPOR EXTRACTION WELL INSTALLATION
Following pilot boring advancement, AGI proposes to install a total of eight (8) SVE wells
with the following construction:
• Four (4) wells will be installed in the interior of the 308 North Ham Lane to total
depths of 15 feet bsg and screened from 3 to 15 feet bsg.
• Two (2) wells will be installed to 20 feet bsg in the rear exterior parking area of the
subject property to 20 feet bsg and screened from 5 to 20 feet.
• Two (2) wells will be installed to 30 feet bsg in the rear exterior of the building and
will be screened from 10 to 30 feet bsg.
SVE well installation procedures are described in detail in Section 3.2. The proposed soil-
vapor well locations are illustrated in Figures 1.
3.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGI representative under the supervision of a
California Professional Geologist. Procedures for the advancement of pilot borings, SVE
well completions, and equipment decontamination are outlined below.
3.1. SOIL BORING ADVANCEMENT
Proposed borings for SVE well installations will be advanced to depths ranging between
15 and 30 feet bsg using a 6-inch diameter hand auger or a direct push drilling rig
equipped with 8.25-inch diameter hollow-stem augers.
Soil encountered in the borings will be visually classified by an AGI staff member in
accordance with the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS). Additionally, soil samples
will be field-screened for the presence of volatile organic compounds using an organic
vapor meter (OVM) equipped with a photo-ionization detector (PID). Soil sample
descriptions and OVM readings will be recorded on a log for each boring.
3.2. SVE WELL COMPLETION
Soil borings will be single-completed as SVE wells utilizing 2-inch diameter schedule 40
polyvinylchloride (PVC) 0.020-inch slotted well screen and blank well casing. Well
screens will be placed from 3 feet to 15 feet bsg; 5 feet to 20 feet; and from 10 feet to
30 feet bsg.
After installing the well casings, a filter pack material consisting of pre-washed #3 sand
will be added through the augers to approximately one to two feet above the screened
