Sanitary plumbing collects discharge from the facility restrooms and cafeteria and is tied
to the city sanitary sewer system via service connection that is separate from the DAF
effluent
Stonnwater discharge from the pWt roof and catch basins located near the receiving
docks is routed into a storm sewer located in the street. Some parrs of the site, including
the bulk chemical receiving area drain into a storm sewer located on the north side of the
Property.
A schematic of the sewer system layout at the Facility is provided in Attaehment I.
Possibie Release See narios
Chemicals stored at the facility are primarily used in the laundry processing and in the
wastewater treatment. Smaller amounts ofchernicals are used in the boiler roam,
A complete list of the chemical storage locations is provided in Atfacbmen12.
Wash Floor Chemicals
All large bulk storage tames containing chemicals used in the wash process are located
inside of secondary containment area which can capture any tank leaks or overflows.
There are also smaller 55-gal[on drums associated with the bulk storage tanks and those
are located outside of the concrete containment area and stored near the wash alley.
Chemical drums are always kept in or on secondary containment.
Some of the possible release scenarios include:
* A hose coupling failure or leak from the hose after the product transfer operation is
complete
* Bulk storage tank overflow inside the chemical storage area.
• Container damage during offloading, internal transport or caused by a forklift
impact
* Chemical piping failure
WSI representative or Cintas Partner must be present during all phases of a bulk chemical
delivery. At no point should the transfer operation be unattended. Follow chemical
delivery instructions provided by the WSI as well as Cintas Safety.
There are no drains in the bulk storage area and the 48 inch high wall surrounding the
storage area provides secondary containmm. Any spills that occur inside the
containment area can be removed using a spill kit or, if the spill is large, pumped out for
further disposal without affecting the environment.
