1.6 CONTRACTOR'S QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Contractor shall possess a valid California C-57 Water Well Drillers Contractors License and shall <br /> be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of San Jose Water adequate experience with projects <br /> of similar size and scope as describe herein. <br /> 1.2 INSPECTION OF SITE <br /> The Contractor shall inspect the work site and note all existing conditions before submitting a <br /> bid for this project. A site tour will be held on Month, Day, Time with the Owner. <br /> The contractor shall be responsible for determining the subsurface conditions and extent of <br /> underground foundations that may not be detectable by casual observation and must take this <br /> into consideration in submitting his bid. The Owner does not guarantee the accuracy of site or <br /> down hole data provided. Information sources used to develop specifications will be made <br /> available to the Contractor upon request. No allowances shall subsequently be made for <br /> expenses incurred as a result of failure to examine the site and available data. <br /> 1.3 COORDINATION/COOPERATION <br /> The Contractor shall notify the Owner at least three (3) working days in advance of the <br /> tentative starting date. <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for contacting and coordinating with all utility companies <br /> with regards to the location of existing underground facilities in the construction area. The <br /> Contractor shall call Underground Service Alert at (800) 642-2444, at least 2 working days <br /> before commencement of underground work for location of underground facilities. <br /> 1.4 PRESERVATION OF PROPERTY <br /> The Contractor shall use such means as are necessary to confine all work to the well station as <br /> directed by the Owner. <br /> 1.5 PERMITS, BONDS, LICENSES AND INSURANCE <br /> The Contractor shall procure all permits, bonds, licenses and insurance, pay all charges and <br /> fees, and give all notices necessary and incidental to the prosecution of the work. <br /> 1.6 PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for assuring that the work site is safe and secure and that <br /> temporary coverings are provided whenever there is an interruption in work. All excavations <br /> shall be secured and protected from the public, animals, and debris when not under direct <br /> control of the Contractor. <br />
