REGULATION GUIDANCE: Title 22 California Code of Regulations section 66262.34. CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately dispose of the hazardous waste stored on site greater than 180 days in compliance with Title 22 California Code of Regulations. Provide a corrective action statement and a copy of the disposal records to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)within 30 days. The containers were: -One 55-gallon drum containing used fuel filters, absorbent pads and oily liquid had no label. REGULATION GUIDANCE: All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: the words "Hazardous Waste", name and address of generator, hazardous properties, physical state, composition (contents), accumulation start date CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately label the containers as required for hazardous waste. Provide a corrective action statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)within 30 days. This is a (Minor)Violation. 40 22 CCR 16 66266.130; HSC 6.5 25250.22 3030004-Properly manages used oil filters and fuel filters OBSERVATION: Used fuel filters out of compliance with the storage rules were observed on-site. The following used metal fuel filter were on-site: -One 55-gallon drum containing multiple used fuel filters was observed with no label or accumulation start date. -The fuel filters observed in the 55-gallon drum were not drained of all free-flowing liquid. Oily liquid was also observed in the drum with the filters. -Staff on site stated they have had previous hazardous waste pickups, including used fuel filters, but did not know who picked it up or how it had been picked up without a facility EPA ID number. REGULATION GUIDANCE: Title 22 California Code of Regulations section 66266.130 Management of Used Oil Filters. California Health & Safety Code section 25250.22 Fuel Filters CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately drain all metal oil and fuel filters of free-flowing liquid, store them in closed, rainproof containers. Label the container with the words "used fuel filters". Mark the container with an accumulation start date. Dispose of all used filters stored on-site greater than one year or with no accumulation start date. Used filters not stored, handled and disposed of according to this section are regulated as hazardous waste. Provide a corrective action statement, disposal records and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD)within 30 days. This is a (Minor)Violation.
