(KLE//VFELOER <br /> Bright People,Bight Solutions. <br /> utility clearance at each location. The private utility locator will scan the sidewalk and parking lane of <br /> North El Dorado Street for the presence of 500-gallon UST. The project boundaries will be marked and <br /> designated in white spray paint and USA will be contacted to mark the Site for public underground utilities. <br /> Prior to drilling, each boring location will be cleared via hand tools to 5 feet bgs, depending on nearby <br /> subsurface utilities. Kleinfelder will then direct the drilling subcontractor to collect continuous core <br /> samples via a direct-push rig to gather soils for logging and sampling purposes. <br /> 3.3 SAMPLING LOCATIONS <br /> Kleinfelder proposes advancing six soil borings (KLF-1 through KLF-6) using direct push drilling methods. <br /> Based on the presumed groundwater depths at the Site of between 12 and 15 feet bgs,the six soil borings <br /> will be drilled to approximately 18 feet bgs to gather soil and groundwater samples to submit for <br /> laboratory analysis. Proposed boring locations are located near RECs from former Site activities to focus <br /> the assessment near the locations most likely to have environmental impacts (Figure 3). <br /> Soil will be screened with a photoionization detector(PID)for the presence of volatile organic compounds. <br /> The PID will be calibrated with 100 ppm Isobutylene at the beginning of the field day. Field PID readings <br /> will be recorded on the field boring logs and included in the final logs.Additionally,field observations that <br /> may indicate contamination (such as soil staining and/or petroleum or solvent odors) and depth that <br /> water is encountered will be recorded on the field logs and included in the final logs. <br /> Location data from each sampling point will be collected, by pacing or measuring wheel from landmarks <br /> that can be identified on aerial photographs and in the field using a hand-held GPS or mobile device <br /> application. This information will be recorded on the field maps and boring logs. Any field notes or <br /> photographs collected during drilling will be recorded and stored in the project file location and can be <br /> provided or included in the final report, as needed. <br /> 3.3.1 Soil Sampling <br /> Soil sampling will be conducted by Kleinfelder under the direction of a licensed Professional Geologist <br /> (PG).Soil samples will be collected either from a hand auger bucket or from direct push acetate liners and <br /> placed into laboratory provided jars. Soil samples collected for Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH) as <br /> gasoline (TPH-g) or volatile organic compounds (VOCs),will be completed via method 5035 to reduce the <br /> volatilizing the COPCs in the soil samples.
