KLE/NFELOER
Bright People,Bight Solutions.
in general accordance with the Unified Soils Classification System (USCS). Soil cuttings will be placed in
labeled 55-gallon soil drums.
The anticipated soil sample analytical plan is as follows and is summarized on Table 1:
• Twelve discrete soil samples, two from each of the six proposed borings, will be selected based
on elevated PID readings, observation of staining or odor. If no indication of impact is observed,
samples will be collected from between 5 and 15 feet bgs and from directly above first detected
groundwater, expected at 15 feet bgs. Table 1 uses depths of 5 and 12 feet bgs as placeholders.
Soil samples will be tested Title 22 metals, TPH as motor oil/diesel (TPH-mo/d), and TPH-g and
VOCs (See Section 4 for further details on laboratory analyses).
Additional soil samples may be collected, or sample depths may be adjusted, if suspected contamination
is encountered in the form of PID readings, visual staining, or odor observed during drilling. The soil
samples will be labeled with a unique ID (ex. KLF-Boring-Depth), recorded on the laboratory's chain-of-
custody form, placed in a chilled cooler, and transported to a State-certified analytical laboratory either
by shipment, drop-off or by a laboratory courier.
3.3.2 Groundwater Sampling
Groundwater samples will be collected from three of six proposed borings, KLF-2, KLF-4 and KLF-5 based
on proximity auto repair operations,to the 500-gallon UST, and Chinese Laundry and hydraulic elevators,
respectively and the groundwater flow direction. The proposed groundwater sampling locations are
shown on Figure 3.
Following completion of soil sampling activities,a temporary polyvinyl chloride(PVC)casing will be placed
into each of the six borehole with groundwater present. The temporary casing will consist of 5 feet of
screen and solid PVC pipe to the surface. Groundwater is anticipated to be encountered between 12 and
15 feet bgs, but in the event that groundwater is not encountered in the proposed locations, sampling
locations or boring depths will be adjusted in the field by drilling deeper until groundwater is encountered
or to a maximum depth of 25 feet bgs at select borings.
25001155.006A/ST0240174614 Page 6 of 17 November 8, 2024
©2024 Kleinfelder www.kleinfelder.com
