(KLE//VFELOER
Bright People,Bight Solutions.
The anticipated groundwater sampling is as follows:
• Up to six groundwater samples will be collected from select borings to be analyzed for TPH and
VOCs. Up to three boring's water samples will be tested for metals, one from each of the pairs
discussed below, depending on water flow/recharge.
o KLF-1 and KLF-2, located in the northwest corner of the northwestern quadrant, are to
provide assessment of the area identified for automotive repair
o KLF-3 and KLF-4, in the north and northeast portion of the Site will assess the former Ford
Motor building and provide data near the 500-gallon UST.
o KLF-5 and KLF-6,located on north of the building are to assess the former Chinese Laundry
and collect data near the northeast corner of the building where the elevator hydraulic
rams are located.
• Duplicate and other samples are detailed below in Section 3.3;
Groundwater samples will be collected using either a peristaltic pump with disposable tubing or
disposable bailers to avoid cross-contamination. The samples will be placed in laboratory provided
containers with or without preservatives as is appropriate for the specific analysis. Each groundwater
sample will be labeled with a unique ID (ex. KLF-boring -Depth), recorded on the laboratory's chain-of-
custody form, placed in a chilled cooler, and transported to a State-certified analytical laboratory either
by shipment, drop-off or by a laboratory courier.
Groundwater samples will be analyzed for the metals will be filtered in the field (See section 4 for further
details on laboratory analyses).
Groundwater sampling procedures will follow the DTSC Guidelines for Planning and Implementing
Groundwater Characterization of Contaminated Sites (DTSC, 2012). Please refer to this document for a
detailed list of sampling guidelines.
3.3.3 Boring closure
After completion of sampling all borings will be grouted to 4 feet below ground surface with neat cement
grout and the top 4 feet will be filled with sand. The reason that borings are not grouted to the surface, is
that planned construction could damage the grout column and create a preferential flow path to
groundwater.Asphalt cold patch will be used to patch the surface pavement.
25001155.006A/ST0240174614 Page 7 of 17 November 8, 2024
©2024 Kleinfelder www.kleinfelder.com
