(KLE//VFELOER <br /> Bright People,Bight Solutions. <br /> 5 DATA EVALUATION <br /> Data evaluation is a critical component of the ESA and is intended to (a) identify which of the detected <br /> COPCs may be associated with an on-Site release, and (b) assess if the reported concentrations of the <br /> COPCs are of acceptable quality to be used in the screening evaluation for COPCs. In accordance with the <br /> DTSC PEA Guidance Manual (DTSC, 2015b).The data evaluation will include the following: <br /> 5.1 EVALUATION OF ANALYTICAL METHODS <br /> Analytical methods will be selected to obtain data that are appropriate for health screening evaluation of <br /> the COPCs. <br /> 5.2 EVALUATION OF DETECTION LIMITS <br /> Detection limits associated with the analytical data will be reviewed before eliminating COPCs that were <br /> not detected from the human health screening evaluation. In some cases, the detection limit for a <br /> chemical may be greater than the corresponding standards, criteria, or concentrations derived from <br /> toxicity reference values; therefore, the chemical may be present at levels greater than these <br /> corresponding reference concentrations, which may result in undetected risk. In other cases, a particular <br /> detection limit may be significantly higher than positively detected values in other samples in a data set. <br /> After considering these cases and any other reasonable reasons why contaminants may not have been <br /> detected, chemicals that have not been detected in any medium will be eliminated if appropriate. If <br /> information exists to indicate that the chemicals are present,they will not be eliminated.The ESA Report <br /> will identify the possibility of undetected or non-sufficiently characterized contaminants and recommend <br /> additional sampling as part of further investigation, as appropriate. <br /> 5.3 EVALUATION OF QUALIFIED DATA <br /> Data qualifiers, added by the laboratory to identify estimated or suspect data, will be reviewed, and <br /> evaluated before the data can be used for the Human Health Screening Evaluation. <br /> 25001155.006A/ST0240174614 Page 11 of 17 November 8, 2024 <br /> ©2024 Kleinfelder www.kleinfelder.com <br />
