Safety <br /> 3-02.3.3 Employees <br /> Request adequate resources, supervision, technical review and related support to <br /> implement the requirements of this Section. Understand and implement the <br /> requirements of this Section. Participate in employee training and overall safety <br /> program requirements. <br /> 3-02.4 General Safety Rules <br /> • Each employee must follow safe practices and give all possible assistance to <br /> maintaining safe operations. Unsafe conditions and/or unsafe acts must be <br /> reported promptly to the project manager, field supervisor, or other proper <br /> authority, as well as the Area Safety Representative. <br /> • Project managers, field supervisors, and safety personnel will make regular job <br /> site inspections and take measures to mitigate safety issues discovered. Safety <br /> concerns for project aspects not under Kleinfelder's control will be reported to <br /> the responsible party. <br /> • No firearms or other weapons are permitted on the job site. <br /> • Each employee shall operate equipment only when all guards and other <br /> protective devices are properly secured and correctly adjusted. Employees are <br /> required to promptly report all deficiencies to the project manager or field <br /> supervisor. <br /> • Fighting, horseplay, or scuffling on the job is prohibited. Crowding or pushing <br /> when boarding or leaving any vehicle or equipment is prohibited. <br /> • An employee must not attempt to lift heavy or bulky objects beyond his/her <br /> capacity. (Size up load. Get help when needed. Keep back straight, knees <br /> bent, and lift with leg muscles.) <br /> • Makeshift devices are not to be used instead of ladders for reaching elevated <br /> locations. <br /> • Both hands are to be used to climb or descend ladders. <br /> • Employees are to walk carefully and be alert at all times. Running in the work <br /> area is not permitted except to avoid danger. <br /> • Aisles, passageways, fire extinguishers, eye washer and safety shower <br /> corridors are not to be blocked at any time. <br /> • When driving, employees are to observe all local traffic rules and speed limits. <br /> Employees are required to wear seat belts. <br /> • Food and beverages are not to be consumed in laboratories or in work areas <br /> where toxic materials are stored, handled or used.
