F <br /> SUMMARY <br /> reatment of wastewater influent from all sources (except the marina holding tank) will occur by <br /> c tanks that serve the Hero Lodges, Clubhouse, Restrooms Building and Laundry Building. <br /> Each Lodge has its own septic tank to trap items that may be flushed other than human waste, <br /> thereby protecting the Lift Station pumps and Package Treatment Plant operations. Effluent from <br /> these tanks will gravity flow to the Lift Stations that will pump collected septic tank effluent to the <br /> 1 Ok gallon settling/flow equalization tank which is the first phase of the Package Treatment Plant. <br /> Domestic water lines originating from the new well to serve all buildings have not been designed, as <br /> of the date of this Report. It is anticipated to install the lines around the outer perimeter of CGS to <br /> mitigate potential conflict with wastewater lines. <br /> The native soils appear to have significant denitrifying capability as evidenced by the soil chemistry <br /> test results in Table 1. Therefore, it is anticipated that the small concentration of nitrate within the <br /> treated effluent will undergo denitrification through the soil profile under the filter bed. <br /> The nitrate loading calculations on Page 5 indicate that nitrate loading from the CGS will exceed the <br /> Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for nitrate by 60%. Consequently, the effluent must undergo <br /> additional treatment by the proposed Package Treatment Plant. <br /> Attached Design Plans are Schematic Drawings (SD) and not Technical Drawings (TD) because: <br /> 1.) Future and final elevations are unknown, and 2.) The complexity of installing gravity flow fed <br /> septic tanks, Lift Station tanks and Package Treatment Plant tanks must be based on the owner's <br /> surveying team plotting exact locations of all proposed onsite improvements. <br /> Infiltrator EZFIow modules have been specified as filter media in lieu of washed drain rock because <br /> of the case of installing the modules. More than 20 truck and trailer transfer units would be needed <br /> to supply the required drain rock volume in comparison to one van trailer load for all the required <br /> EZFIow modules. <br /> Under Section 3.9 of the EHD Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems Standards, "there shall be a <br /> minimum of five (5) foot separation between the bottom of the leach trench and perched water or the <br /> static groundwater table." The calculated separation distance has been determined to be 4.8 ft. <br /> Given the fact that effluent from this project will have undergone treatment; the calculated separation <br /> distance of 4.8 ft can be considered adequate. <br /> A Filtrol® 160 Washing Machine Lint Trap Filter should be installed on each washing machine after <br /> machine installation in the Laundry Building. Cut Sheets are found in Appendix I. <br /> As referenced in the Introduction, the project has a number of insufficient setback distances between <br /> the two onsite wells and adjacent septic tanks, and the holding tank. Consequently, under Section 11 <br /> of the EHD Standards, a variance is requested.
